Karl Marx 100 mark banknote

The 100 mark banknote was introduced in 1975 and was the highest denomination in the GDR. Karl Marx 5 D-Mark commemorative coin

This 5 D-Mark commemorative coin was first issued on June 21, 1983 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his death. The picture side is adorned with a portrait of Marx. On the value side, the German federal eagle (national emblem of the Federal Republic) is shown in a slightly modified form. The quote "Truth as reality and power -" from Marx's Theses on Feuerbach" is engraved on the edge of the coin. The designs come from the medalist Erich Ott from Munich.
